Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board

Excellent educational opportunities to enable all learners to reach their full potential in a changing world

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board serves communities from the Kawarthas in the north to Lake Ontario in the south, Hastings County in the east and the edge of Oshawa in the west - an area of almost 7,000 square kilometers.

It operates 85 elementary schools, 15 secondary schools and 6 adult learning centers. Of the 44,189 students (28,741 elementary, 14,160 secondary, 1,089 adult students) approximately 25,000 students are bused to school every day on 500 different bus routes.

The board provides French Immersion programs in 10 elementary schools and extended French programs in five elementary schools, as well as a range of special services for students, such as Special Education, Behavioral, Psychological, and Social Work services. The board also provides instruction in the Ojibwa language in seven schools as an optional program available to Native and non-Native students.
